Understanding the Challenge

Every parent wants to see their child succeed in school, enjoy learning, and feel confident. But for many families, this journey is more complicated.

Some children struggle with reading, writing, numbers, or focusing in class — despite being intelligent and capable. These struggles are often due to learning disabilities, which affect how the brain processes information.

You may notice that your child:

  • Finds reading or writing extremely difficult.
  • Struggles with math or number concepts.
  • Has trouble paying attention or staying focused.
  • Finds it hard to follow instructions.
  • Has weak memory or organizational skills.

Becomes frustrated and avoids schoolwork.

These are not signs of laziness or lack of intelligence. They are signs your child learns differently and needs specialized support.

Why It Feels Harder

Learning disabilities affect more than school grades. Without the right support, challenges can grow and impact many areas of life:

  • At school: Children may fall behind, even though they are bright and capable.
  • At home: Homework can become stressful, leading to tears and frustration.
  • Socially: Struggles can affect confidence and make children feel different from peers.
  • Emotionally: Constant challenges may lead a child to believe they aren’t “good enough.”

For parents, this can feel heartbreaking. You know your child is intelligent and creative, but the system often doesn’t recognize it.

👉 The good news: With the right support, children with learning disabilities can develop strategies to succeed academically and grow into confident, independent learners.

My child was with Ms Vimla in Mind Skills Development Centre. During his period my son picked up on vocabulary, reading, writing and interacting with other kids. He improved a lot by the time he was school ready. She has been a mother to my child and her teaching style and method are impeccable. She uses various methods to develop a child and improve a child's cognition skills. Her doodle, drama and phonics class was amazing. My child is progressing today because of her.

Vimla Mam's class helped me because she told me to make things out of clay which improved my focus and always told me to check my tools. Her methodology helped me a lot in improving my subjects and now I can score better on my exam. Thank you very much Vimla Mam for all your support.

I noticed that my daughter is now a lot more confident and believes in herself. She gets her work done faster and there is a lot of change in her attitude towards her academic work. Challenging tasks are not a worrying factor. She assured me that she will do it. I’m really happy we found you and enrolled her into this program. She even seems happier as a person!

I had a fun time learning with Vimla Mam. She taught me how to read, write and syllabification of words and I also learnt the clay modelling method with her. It helped me in my further studies. You are such an amazing teacher who always motivated me. My teachers at school have noticed positive differences in my performance too. Thank you Vimla Mam.

          Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

          Q: What are learning disabilities?

They are differences in how the brain processes information, which can affect reading, writing, math, focus, or memory.

If your child shows consistent struggles in school despite effort, it may be a sign. We can help assess and guide you.

No. They are lifelong differences. But with the right support, children can learn effective strategies and succeed academically.

No. MSDC provides educational and developmental support programs, not medical treatment.

We work with children between 5–15 years old who need help with ADHD-related challenges. But those above age 15, adults and seniors can also benefit from taking our program.

At MSDC, we believe learning disabilities do not define a child. They simply show us that the child learns differently.

With the right support, every child can discover their potential, succeed in school, and grow with confidence.
